Today’s topic for Top Ten Tuesday is a freebie – with no “theme” to the freebie. I have said before I am not found of the freebie’s cause then I have to think of what to write and I have not direction or prompt to move it forward. However, I have an idea for today’s freebie.
My list for this Tuesday is the top ten books I will read in 2023, even if they are the only books I read in 2023 but I am hoping I have the opportunity and motivation to read more than 10 books next year. All of these books are new books for me (no rereads) and are all on my TBR list on GoodReads.
My Grandmother Asked Me To Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman – this book has been raved about by many people and has come highly recommended as a must read.
The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern – this one has been on my TBR for a long time. I have heard mixed things on it but I adored Carval by Stephanie Garber and there was a lot of mixed things on that one as well.
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller – another that has been on my TBR for a long time. I read Circe by Miller and really liked it and think I would enjoy this one as well. It has some great reviews.
Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid – this one comes highly recommended to me by a friend and seems like it would be a fun read.
Gods & Monsters (Serpent & Dove #3) by Shelby Mahurin – I devoured the first two books in on time and then never picked this one up and I am still unsure why. I really enjoyed the first two books of the series and would live to see it finished out. I will probably reread the first two books (Serpent & Dove and Blood & Honey) to refresh my memory on the story but will definitely be finishing this series in 2023.
My Sister, the Serial Killer by Oyinkan Braithwaite – So this one keeps coming up on my “suggested reads” on both my audio books and my kindle and it seems like it will be a really good read.
My Calamity Jane by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, & Jodi Meadows – I read the other two books in the Lady Janies series and loved them. Looking forward to finishing this out.
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune – I have heard so many great things about this book and had it recommend by quite a few people.
The Mermaid, the Witch, and the Sea by Maggie Tokuda-Hall – pirates, mermaids, witches, magic…I mean what isn’t there to like?
Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll – I loved the movie, and had the book on my TBR before it even came out.
Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

Freebies can be surprisingly tough! I wouldn’t mind reading more TJR as I’m enjoying Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo right now.

I’ve read the first three books on your list and really liked them all. I hope you do get a chance to read them this next year! I would like to read both My Sister, the Serial Killer and The House in the Cerulean Sea. Maybe next year will be the year for me to read those too!

Though I haven’t read any of them, the Janies and now the Mary books do look fun! And it’d be interesting for me to read books written by an author trio. 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting my website today. Appreciate this.
