Cecelia walked across the empty floor of the gym, knowing full and well that this was going to be one of the last times. She had 180 days to savor every bit of her senior year that she could. And she planned to do just that.

She wouldn’t say she was one of the more popular girls in her class but plenty of people knew her, and she was determined to be sure she left her name and legacy on as much as she could at this school.

She already belonged to multiple clubs, was active in multiple sports, was a stellar student academically, and now she would be on the panel that would be judging the entries for the new school mascot after the remodel was finished.

Cecelia picked up the log of who would be entering submissions for the mascot. Your submission had to include a name for the mascot, what the mascot was to be such as a horse or an eagle, a drawing of how you saw the mascot looking, and had to incorporate the school colors of green, black, and gold. As she read down the names on the list, she stopped at one that stood out to her in particular, Dustin Long.

This just got interesting, she thought to herself as she laid the clipboard back down on the table. As she was doing so, other members of the group entered the gym. “You ready for some hefty competition?” fellow student Rudy said. Cecelia smiled, there would be no competition if Dustin gave any effort at all. Dustin was an excellent artist and only Picasso himself could beat him.
